The TYA (The YouTube Algorithm) is honestly one of the most f*cking ridiculous things I’ve ever seen in my entire life. All it does is shove pure garbage down your throat. Someone spends hours making a video, pouring their soul into it, and they get like 1–10k views… while some random crap of a 6-year-old smiling with an emoji over their face blows up to 600k views! 6. F*cking. Hundred. Thousand. And they’re not even old enough to be on YouTube! WHAT THE HELL, MAN. I just… I can’t.
"I never can find anything new I’m interested in anymore, it’s like I’m being fed only things related to what I just immediately watched yesterday. Or these weird 200 view videos that aren’t related to anything at all I’ve ever watched. They’re also ALL very very short. I used to be able to find more long form video content so easy through the algorithm but now it feels like a lot of it disappeared. I feel like I’m being fed the same crap over and over and it sucks. I’d love to find new interesting channels but I feel like I’m locked in a cage dictated by my previous interests. I find myself refreshing 3-4x and still finding nothing." -SpiteAdministrative5 on Reddit
